 (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning)


NPTEL provides E-learning through free online Web and Video courses in Science, Engineering and Humanities stream.  It is the joint initiatives of the seven IITs and IISc of our nation funded by MHRD.

NPTEL features:

*Provision of open course materials for science, engineering and humanities students and teachers (freely).
*The NPTEL faculty have modularized their courses into core concepts which every one of these institutions may teach and topics which are add-ons to the course.
*The courses are well structured and are elaborate with details wherever the faculty members have felt the need.
*Institutions are encouraged to build their own versions of NPTEL courses based on their curriculum design using the NPTEL materials and collective experience of all IITs and IISc in TEL.
*The focus is to build at least one version of each course offered in all of Science, Engineering and Humanities from B.Tech. / B.Sc. to Ph. D. programs.
*Threaded discussion and interaction build a digital library for each subject and create Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for the section.

The video content is available in MPEG-4 format with a bit-rate of 512 kbps with H.264 compression for streaming through the Internet. They are accessible freely through the YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/iit.

Web contents and access to embedded video lectures from you-tube are available free of cost through the website http://nptel.iitm.ac.in

NPTEL provides E-learning through online Web and Video courses in Engineering, Science and humanities streams. The mission of NPTEL is to enhance the quality of Engineering education in the country by providing free online courseware.

     Inter Campus a One-Day Faculty Development Programme on “Effective Writing Skills and Internet Usage for the Preparation of Articles” 

                               Inter Campus a One-Day Faculty Development Programme on “Effective Writing Skills and Internet Usage for the Preparation of Articles” was conducted in TEC Library on 9th December 2014. Mr.Paulraj, Chairman and Mr.Perumal, Vice-Chairman presided over the Inaugural function. Mr.Senthil Kumar Palraj, Secretary graced the occasion.  The welcome address was given Dr.C.Nelson Kennedy Babu, Principal. Dr.Ramasamy, Director delivered the inaugural address.  Resource Persons Dr.Thirumagal, Librarian, M.S.University, and Dr.Saravanakumar, Librarian Sadakathullah Appa College delivered lectures. Mrs.Chitral, Librarian and Mrs. S. Balammal @ Geetha Assistant Professor introduced the resource persons.  Mr.Mani, Assistant Librarian delivered the vote of thanks. Mr.Thalavai Pandian, office superintendent and FDP coordinator has made the arrangements for the programme.
